the most prevalent aspect concerning breaking bad that literally infuriates me to the highest fucking degree is the critical response (particularly by male viewers) on walter whites character

its honestly mind boggling and ultimately terrifying when i hear somebody say “walter white is such a badass !!” or “walter is a hero !! i wanna be like him !!!”

walter white is a piece of shit. period.

its natural as human beings to root for the underdogs in almost every situation imaginable, and walter white is no exception, seeing as he was one of the biggest underdogs in entertainment today. hes a man whose been screwed over his entire life, working a dead end job, trying to provide for his pregnant wife and care for his son with cerebral palsy. his cancer diagnosis is the icing on the cake, and the proverbial straw that breaks the camels back which leads him to pursue a life of crime. his actions, although deplorable, are still accepted by many at the beginning because hes doing it for HIS FAMILY, not himself.

however, as the story continues and things very suddenly begin to fall out of his control, we realize that no action walt committed in the last two years of his life were ever intended as things he did “for the family,” but entirely for himself. when this is confessed in the final episode, it isnt particularly a surprise.

walter white killed people, many of them innocent. he poisoned a child, let a woman die, and emotionally manipulated jesse soley for the purpose of getting him back on his side. hes physically abusive, forcing himself on skyler at one point. he does what he thinks is necessary so that HE can thrive and continue living, no matter what the cost is. walter white is the most important human being in the world, according to himself. without him, theres no purpose in anybodys lives. he pretty much views himself as a god.

what i listed above is only a percentage of the crimes and fucked up things he did throughout the show, and if i had listed everything i wouldnt have had enough room to say anything else. the staggering amount of evidence, combined with what both bryan cranston and vince gilligan have said about walts character is the clearest fucking crystal evidence there is that proves walter white is an evil, degenerate piece of shit.

he isnt a protagonist, not by a long shot. i wouldnt even consider calling him an antihero, because it seems too kind a word. walt doesnt fit into any box of conventional main characters, but thats what makes him interesting.

i have absolutely ZERO PROBLEMS with people liking walt from a CHARACTER standpoint. walt is an AMAZING character, who is incredibly well written and portrayed. hes confident in himself, hes willing to risk it all, and hes irredeemable. theres no character quite like him, who transforms and decays quite as well as walt does.

walter white is an interesting, well written character, but he is NOT a good person, not even close. nobody should ever admire his actions, or want to be like him. accepting his actions at point blank is one of the worst things breaking bad fans have done in confusion of liking him as a character. you can like a character, but completely reprimand their actions, and i wish more people knew that.

so happy birthday walter white. i hate you just as much as i love you. your old saggy ass may be six inches under and dead in the ground, but you still changed my life and ill never be able to listen to “baby blue” without crying my damn eyes out like a LITTLE PISS BABY !!

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT MEME.

39. What would you see if you looked through their trashcan?

upon searching the garbage at the white residence, one will find walter white himself covered in layers of trash, finally accepting himself for who he is. nO BUT REAL TALK ; walt is too smart to leave behind any evidence of his illicit activities in his own garbage ( and has other methods of getting rid of the proof……and bodies ) so there wouldn’t be anything too shocking to find. aside from normal, every day waste, you could find empty pill bottles from his medications, hair he’s lost through shaving / chemotherapy treatments, and bloodied napkins after coughing         yet sometimes even these are things he gets rid of elsewhere to avoid questioning and concern from his wife and son.
